Event Date:
June 6, 2019
Event Format:
Novice Open Fours
Event Notes:
This was not a actual OLBA tournament. For the 2nd year we had a tournament to honour 1st Responders. I thought I would post some info here.
There was no entry fee. All 10 teams received prize money to donate to their favourite charities. All team members received a prize package. The evening began with a BBQ. They played a game of Jack Attack (with a club instructor/guide) for each team. Then they enjoyed a dessert. Back out for a 2nd game and then at 9:00 came in for awards.
We also had a prize table with about $4000 worth of donated prizes so that every participant, through a draw, was able to take home an individual prize.
Emphasis was on fun and relaxation. Information was provided by Wounded Warriors and we encouraged all participants to seek help with PTSD.
It was a double honour to be able to salute our modern day heroes on the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.
A wonderful evening bringing together 1st Responders and 30 volunteers from the club.
So much community support from businesses we were overwhelmed.
